Paola De Giovanni

Paola De Giovanni is a textile designer, photographer and marbling artist, graduate of the London College of Fashion, MA-Fashion Studies.

Currently based in the UK, she is originally from Italy, studied photography and fine art in Florence and Venice then upon receiving a bursary, she moved to the UK to gain her BA and Master degrees.

During the epidemic, Paola has discovered the ancient ink painting technique called marbling and put together an impressive body of prints. Paola describes this medium as a form of active meditation: soothing, liberating and empowering. What started as a creative way to cope with the emotional stress caused by the pandemic, soon became a stunning range of wall art, cushions and silk/velvet scarves. Her marbling artwork is often digitally put into repeats to create seamless and symmetrical patterns to suggest balance, reciprocity and elegance.
